1886 - no serial number - view patent

This early and elegant little typewriter uses a swinging pointer with a finger cup on the end for one’s index finger to select the characters. At the other end of the pointer is a semi-circular wheel to which a rubber strip with molded characters was once attached. A metal rod pushed the pliant rubber characters against the paper.

Inking was achieved with two little felt ink pads that brushed against the rubber characters. An ink dropper was used to apply ink as required.

This typewriter is in original mint like condition and comes with its pine dovetail box.
